In the desktop software you used to offer the ability to design the tops of the beams with a corner chamfer, for situations where we are designing a ceiling beam that otherwise would pop above the roof. I use this often in renovation projects and it would be nice to have again. Thank you.
Will consider allowing for 0 slope roof members in the future.
There needs to be a Tapered End Cut tab for roof flush beams. For example, I have a 20' x 20' garage that needs a center beam to support the ceiling joists and roof framing. The roof is a 6/12 and the LVL sits on the same plate as the rafters, requiring it to get a tapered roof cut.
This can be analyzed using the Tapered End Cut tab, available for flush floor beam members.
Tapered cut page from specifier's guide
I would like to better understand your request- can you please provide additional information or images?
What's crazy is that it is a bearing option for a floor flush beam but not a roof flush beam. I see more taper cuts in roof beams than floor beams.
