Since Forte does not add the joist self weight, the joist self weight for selected product should be presented in the report so that the designer can double check their design dead load. Alternately, add a setting to specify that dead loads are superimposed and do not include joist self weight.

You're overthinking this, it's perfect the way it is right now. For TJI/LSL floors, just put your floor dead at 12 PSF and you're good unless you have stone/marble/tile floors or heavy countertops on it. The 12# covers drywall, framing, insulation, floor covering, etc.

dead load for repetitive joist design is assumed as user input under the dead load. Only beam design is it added by program as separate dead load and listed in Report . A report note would sure help...but it is in the Help Menu
