When using this as reference in the structural calculations that are submitted to building officials for plan review, they tend to not understand factored loads and then use this total number as the maximum load applied for a check on the foundation. We then have to inform them over and over again that the total load is not the design load to be used and that it is to be factored. It also helps to determine the max factored loads of each support at a glance versus looking in the full detail area.
