Forte tutorials would be a lot easier to understand if you provided the basic design procedures:
1 - Design of a simple joist with and with out a overhang
2 - Deign of a simple exterior wall header with a roof load
3 - Design of a simple exterior wall header with a second floor above.
4 - Design of an interior bearing wall doorway header with a floor load on each side
Youtube examples of the above would get we non-engineers off to a good start.
Please advise.
Lookup tables might fit the bill for non-engineers? There are tables for each of the above, and much fewer inputs to get to an answer.
