Recent trends in home design have made for large overhead door openings with large header loads. Currently sizing the trimmers require using the "wall column" mode or "free standing column" mode. Both are not the exact fit for sizing trimmers to support headers. Wall columns use top plates which makes for inaccurate bottom plate loading. Free standing columns don't have wall bracing - i.e. sheathing nailed @12"o.c.
