For use where new floor joists are to be sistered to existing for a new 2nd floor cantilever. New joists have to be sistered back a min. of 3x the length of the overhang so, if there is a way to use the connection between the joists as bearing point 1 & the stud wall acting as bearing point 2 and then we have the cantilever. Not sure if there is an alternative way I can accomplish that calculation without having to bring the new joists all the way back to a midspan bearing wall.
