Consider Thrust/Tension forces in Attic Joist analysis
As the primary function of Ceiling Joists is to resist tension in conventionally-framed roof systems, Attic joist member types should consider such forces in their analysis.
Agreed! It would be great to extend this module not just for attic (floor) joists, but also for rafter ties. Code allows rafter ties in the bottom 3rd of the rafters but the load on the rafters and the tension in the ties changes dramatically, even when placing within that window. It would be really helpful to have a module to analyze these components (and maybe even provide a nailing schedule based on the tension in the tie / joist)
