It would be nice to have a module to design the entire opening similar to how many popular CFS software handles openings (see openings).
Features include:
Design of header for gravity and lateral. Option to use header, and/or a plate fastened to top of header. Option to have header at top of wall and a "lateral only" header at the top of the window.
Design of "king studs" which take lateral load and "trimmer studs" which the header bears on. Option to include "loads from above" (or just linked loads). Also have the option to design the king studs for both gravity and lateral (omit trimmer studs with face mounted hanger to king studs).
Design of sill for lateral loads.
