Right now, the software checks for the prescriptive design of holes first, based on the literature from Weyerhaeuser. In other words, it checks if certain beam material and hole combinations fall within the tables provided in the literature and if it falls within the prescriptive requirements for allowable holes, the software does not calculate the actual values for moment and shear at the hole. It just says whether it passes or fails. It would be great to have the option to show the calculated values of moment and shear for any hole, no matter what beam type or hole size. That way we can see the actual impact the hole has on the design values of the beam.
