It would be helpful to be able to select commodity lumber as a design option for posts. Is there a reason this isn't currently an option?
Additionally, would it be possible to add Alaskan Cedar to the list of species options for beams and joists? I find that I commonly use this species in cases where moisture will be an issue, and it would be helpful if I could use FORTE to design these members as well.

Yes, would be fantastic to size built-up posts (e.g. 3ply 2x4) to compare to PSL, etc.
Thanks for your idea! We will be allowing design of single ply commodity lumber (e/g. 4x4, 4x6, etc.) with the next release of ForteWEB. As for Alaskan Cedar, we can consider adding that product in the future.
