Also, currently ForteWEB checks Eq. 6b and Eq. 8 for deflection - I believe the code does not require deflection checks for seismic events as they are not sustained loads over long periods of time. So long as the member does not fail, any deflection is allowed.
So for this to be implemented correctly, deflection checks should not include these equations.
Hello, This is great news. Please note that only the member is to be designed for the overstrength factor which means the beam end reactions need not include the factor. It will be nice if the output can show the reactions with or without the factor. Otherwise the calculations will need to be done twice. Thank You

I think allowing one to enter in S_DS into the Job Settings tab makes the most sense.
Please note that unless this issue is addressed, the following load combinations are incorrect per code:
Eq. 6b (ASCE 07-16 12.14.3.2.3)
Current: 1.0 Dead +/- 0.525 Seismic + 0.75 Floor + 0.75 Snow
CODE: (1.0 + 0.105*SDS)*Dead +/- 0.525 Seismic + 0.75 Floor + 0.75 Snow
Eq. 8 (ASCE 07-16 12.14.3.2.3)
Current: 0.6 Dead +/- 0.7 Seismic
CODE: (0.6 - 0.14*SDS)*Dead +/- 0.7 Seismic
I should think this to be a pretty high-priority fix considering that the calculations ForteWEB are performing are NOT in-line with code.
Yes, please add this factor. Otherwise the equations from ASCE 07-16 12.14.3.2.3 Eq. 6b and Eq. 8 are not correct.
