Automatic log out should not lock down file

It is frustrating that when Forte automatically logs me out of the program that it also locks the file I was using down for 10 minutes +/- I would like the option to extend or disable the automatic logout or if that is not possible at least make it so it doesn't lock you out of the file you were working on.

The logout issue related to browser changes has been addressed in the current release of ForteWEB.

YES! Glad to hear this is getting fixed. I will say, the guest that recommended opening up another file and then going back and opening up the file that had errors due to the software logging out was extremely helpful in the interim. I was copying the file to open it but that creates numerous files for each project which got confusing.

I find this frustrating as well. A workaround I've found, which is a hassle, is to copy the file, and then open the copy and operate within that file. Of course then you've got two files and you can still get locked out of the copy....

A new feature has been released in browsers to put browser tabs to sleep. This allows browsers to use less battery life for devices, but unfortunately this has resulted with ForteWEB timing out because of a lost connection, which also locks the file for 6 minutes. The issue is happening in all browsers but seems to be occuring more frequently in Edge and Safari. We are working on a fix for this issue now, but since it came as a surprise to us as well we didn't have the chance to address the issue before it impacted users. Expect a fix to be released in the coming weeks. Thanks for your patience.

DITTO DITTO DITTO !!!!! This is costing me valuable time trying to finalize plans for people. I get interrupted constantly during the day and do not have the time to wait 10-15 minutes every time I do to get back to what I was doing. I have tried the previously suggested "open another file and then go back to the one you were working on" and it does NOTHING.
