Time Out Session

Allow me to set up a longer time for when the program automatically logs me off.  Mostly I am working by myself.  I would like an option to set the idle time (:15 min. 1 hour, 2 hours, etc) before it logs me off.  I get the concept in a teamwork environment, but for solo users, it would be helpful.

This is so frustrating!! And to add to that -- I have to wait an additional 6 minutes because "The file is locked for editing by another team member". That team member is me! If I get automatically logged out, PLEASE at the very least, save and close the project that was open. If I have to take a phone call and I miss the cutoff to keep my session active, now I'm sitting around waiting to just reopen the project I was working on. That part, at the least, should be fixed.

    STILL A PROBLEM

There is a warning message but it only shows for 30 or so seconds, and if you miss it, welp. there goes your session.

I'm still having to log in multiple times a day even with the bugfix that was shipped for this issue: https://ideas.forteweb.com/ideas/FORTE-I-292

Session time is just. too. short.

I agree with making this time longer-especially when it locks the file you were working on after it logs you out automatically. Then really you lose another 5-10 minutes. If you stop designing to take a phone call, you get logged out. Perhaps a warning pop up would be a quick easy stop gap measure.

If you select "remember password", this is hardly an issue.

Why isn't this ticket being considered more seriously or moved into the "Planned" category? It has as many votes as some of the top-most-voted "Planned" ideas. It would have the most votes if it were merged with this idea: https://ideas.forteweb.com/ideas/FORTE-I-292

This is a great idea. I agree.

I imagine most folks are working on private computers in private networks. A 30-minute session (cookie expiration) time is ridiculous, and should only be reserved for financial websites or public computers.

A short session time is a poor substitute for actual security, like 2-Factor Authentication. The ForteWEB developers should really be relying on OAuth 2.0 to provide robust security, not a naively short session time.

I, as I imagine other folks as well, am often switching between CAD and engineering programs, and coming back to find ForteWEB logged out multiple times per day, 5 days per week is INCREDIBLY annoying, and doesn't make the site any more secure than if the session time was even a day, or a week (on a private computer).

ForteWEB contains NO sensitive financial or personal information (beyond a phone number and ZIP code, which a user can spoof anyways), and should not be subject to this banal "security" measure.

    Yes, this is awful!

Same problem here. Only since working remote, I find it faster to load Forteweb from my actual computer side and not the remote desktop. When Forte automatically signs me out, it causes weird issues that won't let me sign back in until I wait about 5-10 min. This slows down my workflow significantly.

Couldn't agree more. I too, work alone and find the necessity to have to re-log on disruptive to my work flow when I'm trying to develope a drawing.

Also have an option to stay logged in ("This is a private computer").
